Sandwich Hand/Console Operator

Are you an early riser with a passion for fresh food and quality service? We’re looking for a Sandwich Hand/Console Operator to join our team at The Station Grocer, Goonellabah. This is a casual role with 3-4 shifts per week, including weekend shifts.

Position Details:

• Kitchen Shift times: 4.30am–11am, 5am-11am (weekdays), 4.30am–11.30am (weekends)
• Console Shift times: 7am-2pm
• Pay rates: $35.18/hr weekdays (20+) | $45.89/hr weekends (20+) junior rates apply for under Age 20
• Roster: 3-4 shifts per week (80% kitchen, 20% console)

What You’ll Do:

• Prepare and assemble fresh sandwiches, rolls, wraps, baguettes, and salads.
• Cook breakfast and hot food items on the grill/deep fryer.
• Operate the console: serve customers, process transactions, and handle fuel and shop sales.
• Keep the kitchen and console area clean, organised, and food-safe at all times.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused environment.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous kitchen, food prep, or console/retail experience.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene.
• Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain one during onboarding).
• Confidence using a POS/console system.
• Team player with a reliable, positive attitude.
• Available for early mornings and weekends.
