Job Title: Till Operator / Customer Service (Afternoon and Closing Shifts)

Shift Times: 10am-4pm, 2pm-9pm, 6pm-9pm
Shifts Per Week: 3-4 shifts per week (may include weekends)

Please note: The 6pm-9pm closing shift is worked solo and, under the applicable award requirements, this shift is only available to employees aged 18 years and over.

The regular roster is Monday to Thursday, however, additional shifts may be available and you may be required to work on other days from time to time. Flexibility across weekdays, weekends and public holidays is required.

Pay Rates:

• Weekdays: $36.85/hour (Ages 20+) — junior rates apply under 20
• Weekends: $48.07/hour (Ages 20+) — junior rates apply under 20

About the Role

At The Station Grocer, our Till Operators are an important part of the customer experience. You’ll be responsible for serving customers, processing fuel and store purchases, operating the till and keeping the front of the store running smoothly.

This is a customer-facing role, so we’re looking for someone who is friendly, reliable and enjoys dealing with people.

Because we trade 365 days a year, you’ll need to be flexible and available to work across weekdays, weekends and public holidays when required.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Serve customers at the till and provide friendly, efficient service.
• Process fuel, food and store purchases accurately.
• Handle cash, EFTPOS and other payment transactions.
• Assist customers with fuel purchases and general enquiries.
• Monitor the fuel pumps and follow all site safety procedures.
• Keep the till area and customer areas clean and presentable.
• Restock shelves and assist with general store duties when required.
• Complete closing duties, including cash reconciliation and preparing the store for the next day.
• Work as part of a team to keep the site running efficiently.

What We’re Looking For

Someone who is:

• 18 years or older if applying for the closing shift.
• Reliable and punctual – we need people we can count on.
• Friendly and confident when dealing with customers.
• Comfortable handling money and using a till/EFTPOS system.
• Able to stay calm and efficient during busy periods.
• A good communicator who works well as part of a team.
• Happy to pitch in and help wherever needed.
• Flexible with their availability, including occasional weekends and public holidays.
• Previous retail, hospitality or customer service experience is preferred, but training will be provided.
