Short Order Cook

We are seeking a reliable and capable short order cook to join our food team. This role is suited to someone who enjoys fast-paced food prep, takes pride in consistency and presentation, and can work efficiently during early morning service.

Position Details

• Employment type: Casual
• Shift times: 5am – 12pm weekdays, 5am-1pm weekends
• Shift availability: 2-3 shifts per week, including weekends
• Pay Rates (20+) * Ages <20, junior rates apply
• Weekday: $36.85 per hour
• Weekend: $48.07 per hour

Your Role

• Complete all food preparation, including slicing meats and vegetables.
• Cook, grill, heat, and fry menu items to required standards.
• Assemble menu items including breakfast offerings, rolls, wraps, baguettes, and sandwiches.
• Prepare and display food in display fridges and ovens.
• Rotate stock and monitor food quality and freshness.
• Store, handle, label, and date food in line with Australian Food Safety Standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen at all times.
• Work efficiently to deliver consistent quality during busy periods.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in a fast-paced kitchen or food prep role (preferred).
• Ability to multitask and work quickly without compromising quality.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in food presentation.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to handle early morning starts.
• Comfortable working independently while supporting the wider team.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
