Kitchen All-Rounder & Console Operator – The Station Grocer, Wollongbar

Are you an early riser with a passion for fresh food and customer service? We’re looking for a motivated team member to join us in a dual role as a Kitchen All-Rounder and Console Operator at The Station Grocer, Wollongbar. This is a casual position with 4 shifts per week, including weekends.

Position Details:

• Shift times: 4:30am–11am 
• Pay rates: $35.18/hr weekdays (20+) | $45.89/hr weekends (20+); junior rates apply for under 20
• Roster: 2 kitchen shifts, 2 console shifts

What You’ll Do:

Kitchen Responsibilities:

• Prepare and assemble fresh sandwiches, rolls, wraps, baguettes, and salads.
• Cook breakfast and hot food items on the grill/deep fryer.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and food-safe kitchen environment.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused kitchen culture.

Console/Customer Service Responsibilities:

• Operate the console/register efficiently and accurately.
• Greet and serve customers with a friendly, helpful attitude.
• Assist with stocking, displays, and maintaining a tidy front-of-house area.
• Support team members across both kitchen and front-of-house tasks as required.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous kitchen and/or customer service experience.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene.
• Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain one during onboarding).
• Strong team player with a reliable, positive attitude.
• Comfortable with early mornings, weekends, and switching between kitchen and console duties.
