Store Manager

Location: Ballina

The Station Grocer is a well-established convenience store and fuel business, owned and operated by a local Australian family, and recognized for its strong presence in Northern NSW. For almost two decades, we’ve been dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service and offering high-quality fuel and consumer products that meet the highest standards.

We’re in search of a proficient manager with a background in fast-paced hospitality, such as cafes or pubs, who possesses exceptional people management abilities gained from their experience

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of our West Ballina based convenience store and fuel business, ensuring high levels of customer service, and leading and developing a team of employees.


  • A hands-on approach to managing and overseeing all aspects of the business’ daily operations, including customer service, inventory management, and safety and security procedures
  • Providing exceptional customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Leading and developing a team of employees, including recruitment, training, and performance management
  • Fostering a positive work environment and culture that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and accountability
  • Implementing and maintaining company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Managing financial performance, including controlling expenses and maximizing revenue opportunities


  • At least 3-4 years of experience in a similar management role with a focus on people management
  • Excellent people management skills, with the ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team of employees
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to build positive relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and maximize revenue opportunities
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative and practical solutions to complex issues
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
